Iran, Oman to broaden media relations

Iranian and Omani officials have met in Tehran to discuss the importance of expanding mutual cooperation in media fields.

Iran's Deputy Culture Minister Hossein Entezami said, “The presence of foreign media persons in Iran is precious and government lays emphasis on reinforcing media diplomacy and relations.”

In reaction to ongoing efforts to promote Iranophobia, he said, “The media, especially the Islamic states' media, play a key role in showing the realities.”

The deputy also said that the media have a key role in depicting the image of the real Iran and, in turn, reflecting it regionally and globally.

Pointing to the long-time relations between the two countries, Entezami said, “Muscat plays a fundamental role in regional equations.”

On the other side of the table, the Omani delegation welcomed boosting cultural relations, strengthening media ties, and sharing media experiences in international as well as regional dimensions.

Lauding Iran’s successes in different international and regional arenas, Omani Foreign Minister Yusuf bin Alawi bin Abdullah said, “Oman's private sector is ready to expand relations with the Iranian companies.”

The Omani foreign minister also noted that, “Cooperation with Iran will open new horizons for us, which is establishing regional peace and security. We would like to get this done and show it to the rest of the region that they can cooperate with each other.”

In late February, Bin Alawi met his Iranian counterpart, Mohammad-Javad Zarif, in Munich to discuss boosting mutual cooperation between the two countries.

The Omani foreign minister thanked Iran's productive and positive role in the regional developments.
